About the Doctor
Dr. Marty Schulman provides travel medicine services including pre-travel preventive counseling and necessary immunizations specifically tailored to a traveler’s itinerary. Originally from Long Beach, California, he received his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley in 1981 then graduated the UC San Diego School of Medicine in 1985. He completed his post-graduate training at Long Beach Memorial Family Practice Residency Program in 1988. At that time his family and he moved to Encinitas, California and they have lived there ever since.
Dr. Schulman developed an interest in travel medicine in the early 1990s while working as a fulltime family medicine faculty member at UC San Diego and he has included travel medicine in his clinical practice ever since then. In 2005 he left his faculty practice in La Jolla to open a solo family medicine practice in Encinitas. At Encinitas Personal Healthcare he sees a limited number of patients so that he when patients call he is able to see them the same day or next day and he almost always starts his appointments on time. Through his affiliation with Travel Clinics of America he is happy to provide this same level of care to anyone in need of travel medicine services. He even gives the injections himself.
